Wood products

Wood is an excellent building material produced by Nature. With the industrial revolution and technological advances, the wood industry was able to introduce various products derived from wood. These products always result from the objective of improving one, or several, characteristics of solid wood. For example, glued laminated wood makes it possible to overcome the geometric limitations imposed on solid wood by the dimensions of the trunks (trees). The lamellas are spliced at the top and overlap, either vertically or horizontally, thus obtaining large dimensions that are impossible to obtain with solid wood. On the other hand, curves are possible by simply superimposing lamellae to which the desired curves are applied. Among the most important wood derivatives, we highlight glued laminated wood (Glulam), CLT (Cross Laminated Timber), plywood, fiberboard, etc.

All these derivatives have one or more improved characteristics compared to solid wood.
